Our partners

Nothing we do would be possible without the trust and support of our partners and funders. Thanks to their commitment, we lead initiatives that strengthen independent digital journalism and help journalists and media leaders build more financially sustainable, diverse, and innovative organizations.

Google News Initiative

Building on nearly two decades of partnership with the news industry, the Google News Initiative (GNI) was launched in 2018 to bring together efforts across the company to help build a stronger future for news. To date, the Google News Initiative has supported 7000+ news partners in more than 120 countries and territories through more than $300 million in global funding.

Solutions Journalism Network

SJN is a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization working to balance news coverage by spreading solutions journalism: an approach that features rigorous reporting on responses to social issues and the evidence that backs them up. Their goal is for all communities to benefit from information on how to solve their problems.

MacArthur Foundation

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation supports creative people, effective institutions, and influential networks building a more just, verdant, and peaceful world. MacArthur strives toward transformative change on some of the world's most pressing social issues, including the existential threats of climate change, criminal justice reform, revitalizing local news in the U.S., expanding who creates, uses, and benefits from artificial intelligence, strengthening the well-being of Native communities, and empowering young people in Nigeria.

Center for Community Media

The CCM, at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, is a national field-building organization that strengthens the community, hyperlocal, and ethnic news ecosystem across the U.S. CCM drives sector-wide resilience by mapping the field for investors, elevating community journalists onto major industry stages, and co-designing custom tools and workflows to bridge critical resource gaps.

Reporteros sin fronteras

RSF defends every human being’s right to access free and reliable information. This right is essential to understanding the world, forming opinions, and making informed decisions—both individually and collectively. RSF works to uphold freedom, pluralism, and independence in journalism, and to protect those who embody these ideals. Its annual World Press Freedom Index measures the state of press freedom in 180 countries.

Journalism Trust Initiative

La Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI) (Iniciativa de Periodismo de Confianza) es una norma internacional, un sello de calidad, para destacar y promover el periodismo de confianza.
